Font - K 12:30 PM I have absolutely no idea why I'm scheduled today. I was never informed of a schedule change or even had it discussed with me and I'm not able to come in on Tuesdays regardless. 1:42 PM 12:30 PM • Ⓒ It's your response to check the schedule every week, and It's a no call, no-show. Cuz you never call the store.

Font - This is out of my availability. I cannot come in on Tuesdays. I've discussed this before when I was hired. It shouldnt be my responsibility to make sure they follow that, and further more this was an abrupt change done without my knowledge or input. ld be more then willing to come in on my agreed upon available work hours or have a discussion while on the clock about other shifts that I may be a better fit for, but you have to understand that when I say I'm not available, i mean it 1:49 P

Font - Okayish_Elderberry ..so you're supposed to randomly call the store to make sure your days of are still off? Cool stuff. 5.9k cortexstack Reply Share This reminds me of a bar I used to work at. I was walking past it across the street at 4pm on my day off looking to do some shopping, and my manager was over the road unlocking the door to start her shift. She saw me so I waved and she shouted over the traffic and asked why I wasn't coming in. I crossed the road and told her it's my day off a

Font - the Friday and it said I had that day off, then I showed her the photo I had taken of it. She said that the rota got changed on the Saturday night and that it was my responsibility to check that no changes had been made when I worked the Saturday shift. But why would I look at it again? I'd seen it and taken note of when I was working. If they needed me on the early shift on Monday then surely they would have told me. Apparently not. I told her that she should tell the people involved whe

Font - I went inside and did my shift (I was young and stupid) and left at around 10pm. Fifteen minutes later I called the phone at the end of the bar and made her come up from the basement to speak to me to make sure no changes had been made in my absence. She confirmed that they had not. Then fifteen minutes I called again. Then again quarter of an hour after that. Then again. She told me that she gets my point and that I could stop calling now. I told her that I really didn't want to get caug

Font - Tar-Nuine This reminds me of a Malicious Compliance. Employee gets angry calls on day off from inept manager, demanding to know where he is. The manager tells the employee it's their responsibility to check with managers about scheduling "Incase" last minute changes have been made without their knowledge. Cue 2 weeks of early morning calls before their shift starts like "Hi boss, sorry for calling so early, i'm just checking, like you asked, that my work schedule hasn't been changed?" unt

Font - xampl9 That's how I got fired from a high school job. I had gotten time off, and we were busy packing up the station wagon for a family vacation. {ring ring} "Are you coming to work today?" "No, I have the week off." "You're on the schedule." "I don't know what to tell you - we're leaving in like 5 minutes on vacation." "Well you're on the schedule. Are you coming in?" "Uhh, no." "If you're not coming in you can pick up your last check next Friday." "See you then." And went and had a grea

Font - Beauknits My Mom used to drive School Bus and worked part-time at Farm Fleet (named changed). She, literally, filled out the availability, which asked when she wasn't available. For weeks, every schedule, would have her scheduled for the times she was driving Bus. It took a letter from Bus Boss stating the times she was driving to get it through their thick skulls she couldn't be at Farm Fleet and drive Bus at the same time. They had the Gall to tell her to move the time she's taking kids

Font - Heart-Of-Aces I once called in to check my schedule and was told I didn't work Monday. When I showed up on Tuesday, I was told I didn't work that day and they needed to talk to me about no-call no- showing on Monday. I told them I called and asked, and they asked who I spoke to. I didn't remember since I don't work in that department or interact with those people ever. They told me that if I didn't remember who I spoke to they couldn't verify that I asked, and that in the future I needed

Font - NovaNardis Got a job in high school. I was hired by a manager who left before I actually started. New manager sets the first schedule. I have a weekday shift like 10- 2. I go to manager and tell him I can't work those hours. He incredulously asks me why not. I say "Because I'm 16 and legally required to be in school." Reply Share 433

    The update

Font - UPDATE: Woke up on my day off to a voicemail asking why I wasn't at work. Apparently someone changed my schedule without my knowledge and it's my fault??? Didn't know how else to update this post, so I figured I'd put it here. TURNS OUT, one of my other managers, who hates me, very recently was given the task of doing the schedule. She was the one who changed it, knowing full well I was not available on those days. To say I'm pissed off is an understatement, but at the moment I'm just kin

Font - Adventurous_Storm348 In all seriousness, you probably need to look for another job if they're going to keep doing this. I used to work somewhere, where the boss would rarely do his rosters in advance as he liked the flexibility of springing shifts on me to the point where some days I'd have to message him in the evening telling him if he didn't tell me what shift I was on I'd assume it was afternoon and if no one was there in the morning it wasn't my fault. Had days where I'd

Font - turn up for shifts that had been last min changed on me without notifying me so I wasn't on until a few hours later. Or shifts that would be changed as I was driving in or even one time I was woken with a message about a roster change for that day in the middle of the night! (Put a stop to that unacceptable behavior pretty quick.) One of the few times I got a printed roster (so was immediately suspicious) was when they'd decided to schedule me on for a whole extra day a week on top of the

Font - Now to your specific problem I had issues where I would also occasionally ask to roster a particular day off (as there was no set roster in existence), have it approved by the boss, informed boss that if approved I couldn't change it as I was organizing other things in those days, told fine and all completely confirmed weeks in advance, but then would just have the note not to schedule me on deleted from the computer and I'd be scheduled to work anyway almost every time (and usually the b

Font - If your boss does not feel they need to honor scheduled and agreed upon time off with even discussing if there change is on with you, it'll make your life difficult and miserable and you either have to check the roster every day and continuously move your life around if it's been changed, or argue with your boss about how it's not possible making everything unpleasant. If they think they can get away with it, things may escalate to the madness I was living under at that job, but if you st

Font - pieridaered Document everything. If it's only happened once, I would just email your manager, the one doing the schedule, HR and the GM. Keep it polite and not defensive. "Emailing to confirm everyone is aware of my schedule availability. I'm not available XYZ. This was communicated when I was hired, but with the previous schedule, there seemed to be some confusion resulting in my being written up as a no-call, no- show." Email is preferable to text, make sure you print a copy of any resp
